Dimosthenis Angelakis was born and raised in Athens. He graduated from the Varvakeio Model School (1986) and studied at the School of Dentistry of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1992).
He served in the Orthodontic Department of the 251st Air Force General Hospital (GNA) (1994). In Berlin he completed his specialty in Orthodontics (1998) as well as his PhD (Dr. Med.dent.) at HUMBOLDT University (2000). Since 1998, he holds the position of Scientific Associate at the Orthodontic Clinic of Germany.
Since 1999, he maintains a private Orthodontic Clinic in Athens (Melissia), while in 2014 he started operating a similar clinic in Glyfada. Since 2001 he has been trained in the application of the INVISALIGN method (Orthodontics with clear aligners) in Düsseldorf, Germany.
He has been continuously applying this method in Greece and Germany since 2001, mainly to adults of all ages, with great success. In recent years the number of patients applying the INVISALIGN method has increased significantly and almost all adult patients are now treated exclusively with the method of clear aligners. Lately, he has been treating more and more adolescent patients with INVISALIGN aligners with great acceptance and very good results.
Dr. Angelakis has the certification of PLATIN STATUS in the INVISALIGN treatment and in recent years he has been certified with the distinction of PLATIN STATUS for his special involvement in the treatment of patients with INVISALIGN splints.
This distinction is awarded to a few selected orthodontists worldwide who have extensive experience in the INVISALIGN method due to the treatment of a large number of patients and participation in seminars and conferences relating to the INVISALIGN method.
At the same time, this serves as a guarantee for those patients who want to choose a suitable Orthodontist to treat them with the INVISALIGN method. This certification ensures that patients receive the best INVISALIGN treatment with its unique benefits.

Since 2003 he has been participating in the voluntary team of the Center of Social Solidarity (KEKA) of the Municipality of Melissia, conducting orthodontic checkups on the students of the Primary Schools of the Municipality of Melissia.
Dr. Angelakis has been a volunteer blood donor since his student years, while contributing to the public’s acquaintance with Orthodontics for children and adults by writing articles in magazines and newspapers.
Finally, he has appeared a number of times in scientific television shows that mainly concern Orthodontics for adolescents and adults using the INVISALIGN method. Since 2001, he has been continuously participating in all scientific conferences and seminars on the use of the INVISALIGN method around the world (Greece – Europe – America).
