This treatment uses removable devices, known as appliances, for the upper and\/or lower teeth, which young patients wear daily for 14\u201315 hours. These removable acrylic appliances include special metal screws (expansion screws), which\u2014depending on the child\u2019s condition\u2014are activated by the child or parents. This activation creates the necessary pressure on the jaws and teeth.
\nTypically, these screws are activated once a week using a special key provided by the orthodontist, in order to renew the force needed to correct the skeletal problem. This type of treatment usually lasts longer than treatment with fixed appliances and is typically around 14\u201315 months.<\/h2><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t
